45. Radical in his giving.

"This is my body given for you ... This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you."(Luke 22:19-20) He didn't possess anything though he owned everything. What little he had on him, they divided it among themselves. If that weren't enough, he gave up his body and the last drop of his blood; finally his life too! "The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many."( Matthew 20:28) Jesus was radical in his giving till the very end and therefore he is worthy to receive everything. "Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain to receive Power, and wealth and wisdom and strength and honour and glory and praise."(Revelation 5:12) His disciples were so radicalised by his call to give that they too ended up giving their lives for him and the gospel! "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up the cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it."(Mark 8:34- 35) True Christians are radicals as they do things differently! Let's imitate him who was so radical in his obedience even to the point of death; so radical in his humility that he washed men's feet, so radical in his forgiveness that he forgave his executors; so radical in his giving that he gave his last drop of blood. Therefore he has become the source of life and has been exalted to the highest place; he is found worthy to receive everything and his enemies will be made his footstool. The world has seen many leaders but none like Jesus! A man worthy to be followed! "Come follow me and I will make you fishers of men."(Matthew 4:19)
